Tara is a wig advocate and creator sharing honest wig reviews, large-head wig fit advice, education, styling tips, and real-world wear tests to help women find beautiful wigs that actually fit.

We are dedicated exclusively to Large Headed Wig reviews, fit, and styles.

Bold, thorough, and unapologetically specific, we test, rate, and style wigs built for larger crowns, along with women who need a little extra room in the wig cap because they wear wigs as an accessory and don’t plan to cut their bio hair.

Expect fit guides, head-size measurements, cap construction breakdowns, comfort scores, and real-world styling tips so you look and feel unstoppable.

Stick around if you’re over the one‑size‑lies.

Unleash Your Radiance

Using social media to connect wig brands to us big headed beauties…

You’re not alone … and you deserve better.

Most wig brands claim large-size caps lose them money. I call BS. The truth really isn’t about cost; it’s about visibility, messaging, and the way the industry operates. Women with larger heads aren’t rare; they’re ignored.

That’s the gap I’m here to close.

If you’ve been sidelined by wig marketing, consider this your next move: measure, speak up, and refuse to accept token inclusion. I’m here to translate the industry jargon, call out the lazy marketing, and connect you to the wigs and sellers who actually deliver real-size options.

Tell me your measurements or the issues you’re hitting when shopping right now, and I’ll point you to specific companies that fit … and explain what to ask them.

Wigs are for everyone who wants to wear them

“You don’t need wigs, you HAVE hair!”

That sentence quietly assumes wigs are something you have to earn the right to wear by losing your hair.

My response would be: “You don’t need makeup either. Or hair color. Or cute clothes. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear them.”

Having biological hair and wearing wigs aren’t mutually exclusive. For some women, wigs replace hair they’ve lost. For others, they protect the hair they have. And for others, they’re simply an accessory that gives them different colors, lengths and styles without spending hours in a salon or damaging their own hair.

And I actually think women with bio hair openly wearing wigs helps normalize wigs for everyone.

The more we stop treating wigs like something that needs a medical justification and start treating them as another completely normal way to wear your hair, the less stigma there is for the woman who does need one.

So when someone says, “But you have hair...”

My answer is: “Yep. And today, I decided to wear the hair that makes me feel like THE best possible version of myself.”

Wig Brands for large heads

While there are many brands that offer standard size wigs that happen to fit some large headed wig wearers, these specific brands have sizes intentionally crafted with lager heads in mind.

Measuring your head for a wig

To measure your head for a wig cap size, you need a flexible soft measuring tape and three necessary measurements: circumference, front-to-back, and ear-to-ear.

1. Head Circumference

  • Start at the center of your front hairline.

  • Wrap the tape measure down just above your ears, around the back of your neck at the nape, and back to the front

  •  Keep the tape level, snug, and flat against your head—not too tight

2. Front-to-Nape (Front-to-Back)

  • Start at the center of your front hairline.

  • Pull the tape straight down the center of your head, passing over the crown, to the base of your neck (the nape)

3. Ear-to-Ear Over the Top

  • Find the top point of your head

  • Measure from the hairline above one ear, straight up and over that top point, down to the hairline above your opposite ear

Expert Tips for the Best Fit

Prep your hair: Flatten or style your hair the exact way you plan to wear it under the wig (such as braids or a flat wrap) before taking measurements.

Size up if between sizes: If your numbers fall across different sizes or in between measurements, choose the larger size and use the built-in adjustable nape straps to tighten the fit.

Prioritize circumference: Head circumference is the primary and most reliable measurement used by most ready-to-wear wig brands.
